Applying VR to education doesn’t have to be complicated.
But it is innovative.
Here are directions on how merging VR and 3D printing can be done. We experimented with different “artistic” apps in VR and the steps needed to make our creations on a 3D printer. If you have experience with a 3D printer, merging VR with it is relatively simple.
- SculptrVR – Oculus Rift S
- SculptrVR – Oculus Quest
- Oculus Medium – Oculus Rift S
- Google Blocks – Oculus Rift S
- Gravity Sketch – Oculus Rift S
- Gravity Sketch – Oculus Quest
The 3D printers we use are the Makergear M2’s and Lulzbot Taz 5 and 6. They both have their positives and negatives, but we have found them to reliable and great for high school use.
